Marratxí still distinguishes fields from the ancient Roman grid. The larger sides of these plots are aligned in front of the access road. The approach to the later sites was done through small dirt roads located on the edges - the so-called ‘drets de pas’. This loss of land dedicated to the pass was distributed equally among the neighbours, since the land was carefully reserved for cultivation. ‘Drets de pas’ aims to establish a link with the architecture and urban planning originating in the Majorcan municipality.
